The Treasury  Department Stamp Designs of 1873 The 1¢, 2¢, and 3¢ stamps were printed on plates of 200 stamps and cut into two panes of 100 stamps The 6¢, 7¢, 10¢, 12¢, 15¢, 24¢, 30¢, and 90¢ stamps were printed on plates of 100 stamps Perforated 12 - Issued July 3, 1873 - Printed by the Continental Bank Note Co. on "thin, hard" whitish paper Scroll over the image to get the Scott number of the stamp illustrated.

The Continental Treasury Official stamps range in color from yellow brown to dark brown, with brown listed as the major color variety. The 15¢ is not listed in the darker shades. The 3¢, 6¢ 10¢, 30¢ and 90¢ Treasury Department stamps were also issued in 1879 by the American Bank Note Company on soft porous paper.
