As can be seen in the images above, it is impossible to
distinguish the Farley Special Printing from the regularly issued
commemorative sheet from a single stamp, unless the stamp has a
wide margin, about 13 mm. The distance between the stamps in
the pair shown is, of course, 13 mm. Any difference in
shade is incidental.
The 3¢ Federal Building, Century of Progress Souvenir Sheet
Special Printing,
Scott 767, was issued as a sheet of 225 stamps,
printed by the flat plate method, with 9 panes of 25 stamps separated by
13 mm gutters. This Souvenir Sheet is
most appropriately collected as a pane of 25 stamps, as
shown below. Since this sheet has a wide margin, it is the
Farley reprint, Scott 767.
