Caution
Scott 546 can be faked by trimming the sides
of a Scott 492 and adding 11 gauge
perforations to all four sides. While the Scott
492 in used condition is very common and the used 546 is worth more than the
unused stamp, the fakes are too small and are not very
believable.
Scott 546 can also be faked by trimming the perf 10 sides and re-perforating a
Scott 540, not that common
since the 540, even in used condition, is somewhat scarce.
Used copies of Scott 546 should NEVER be purchased without certification.
